Stand Up Paddle is a unique sport. Participants use a paddle and large stable board and can paddle in any water location from the open ocean out to sea, coastal shore to far inland on dams, lakes, canals or the beautiful Swan River.

SUP is not a surfing sport nor is it a canoe or surf ski sport. It’s melding to all, with it’s own specialized equipment and skill and technique.

It’s versatility of locations, minimal equipment needs, amazing fitness benefits and the ability for the whole family to participant make it one of the fastest growing sports in the world today.

OCEAN HEALING RETREATS

Our half day Ocean Healing Retreat is designed for reconnecting with nature, taking time for yourself and using the healing power of the ocean to relax and at the same time to practice a healthy and active lifestyle. Spending time on the water alleviates mental health issues and generally invokes a calm, positive mental state.

Reconnect with nature through gentle movement combined with a floating grounding meditation. Feel the sun on your skin and breathe in the fresh air of the ocean through breath work. Join our professional SUP instructor for a SUP lesson and mindful SUP eco tour. Settle into a yin and yang SUP flow yoga practice and take time for yourself and surrender to the sound frequencies and gentle rocking of the water in a sound medicine journey of Tibetan and crystal sound healing bowls. A plant based lunch and refreshments will complete this amazing day on the water.

 

You can join our Ocean Healing  Retreat in four amazing spots: Ngarkal Beach in Port Coogee Marina, Shoalwater in front of penguin island, Lucky Bay at Applecross on the beautiful Swan River or at Rosslare Park at Mindarie Marina.

Classes are in a small group, guided by certified yoga teacher and SUP instructor.

SUP LESSON IN A GROUP

Did you ever wanted to learn to Stand Up Paddle Board? Our special SUP group lessons will get you safely paddling around the calm Swan River and Shoalwater. SUP lessons are designed for anyone who wants to give SUPing a try, we promise to bring you on board with the right paddle techniques, useful safety information and a big smile on your face. Watch out for dolphins during your Stand Up Paddle Board Lesson around Perth.

  • Goal: become an independent Stand Up Paddler, get necessary skills to manoevre your board effectively, paddle with efficient paddle stroke and have confidence moving your feet
  • Covers: learn the correct techniques, how to carry the board, how to adjust your paddle, correct paddle angle, how to transition from knees to feet, how to get back on the board once you have fallen off
  • Ideal for: complete beginners or for those who have already tried

SUP LESSON PRIVATE

On your own or with your mate – we teach you advanced paddle skills to reach the next level of paddle boarding. Do not be fooled by how easy it looks from the shore. Paddle Boarding can be an intense workout if you want to make it so. To make it more beneficial and fun, let your friends join for a SUP race.

  • Goal: become an confident Stand Up Paddler, build up on fitness to achieve maximum efficiency, get necessary skills to manoevre your board effectively, paddle with efficient paddle stroke and have confidence moving your feet, paddling with confidence

SUP FITNESS

Burn some calories and get fit with our Stand Up Paddle Board Work Outs! Paddleboarding is an awesome sport that develops overall fitness and is a great way to work out your whole body. Each exercise will help to replicate the benefits of SUP, so you can build strength and fitness for your body.
As abdominal strength is an important part of improving paddling technique, we’ve selected some key core and shoulder workouts to help improve our stamina over longer distances.

  • Goal: train overall fitness, exercises on your paddle board
  • Covers: warm up, fitness exercises on a SUP board on flat water conditions, stretching, cool down, exercises with paddle
  • Ideal for: everyone who is looking for a new fitness challenge under blue sky

SUP YOGA

Bring your yoga practice out of the studio and reconnect with nature with a SUP yoga session. Enjoy the beauty of your surroundings, feel the sunshine on your skin, the fresh air in your lungs and notice the gentle movement of the water beneath you and your board. Your instructor will safely guide you through your practice as you take your first paddle into SUP yoga, embarking on a new yoga journey. SUP yoga can help reveal any imbalances you may have by highlighting your dominant side or leg thus enabling you to correct it and center yourself.

SUP TOUR TO PENGUIN ISLAND

for intermediate Paddle Boarder

Join us for a paddle board tour together with penguins, dolphins and seals in the beautiful nature of the Shoalwater Marine Park at Rockingham. It is just a short 20 minute paddle ride to the two huge tourist attractions in the area of Rockingham: Penguin Island and Seal Island. Joining our SUP Tour is the best way to get up close and personal to the wildlife and the home of sea lions and penguins.

SUP KIDS

For Kids from 6 -14 years – parallel to SUP Yoga Classes 🙂

Are looking for a fun but physical, outdoor activity that all kids can do and enjoy for the the next birthday party or school class excursion? Our kid SUP program include stand up paddling tuition, paddle board tours and Eco-awareness. We ensure the highest level of safety and enjoyment of every participant! All kids will gain great confidence on a stand up paddle board, in and out of the water and make new friends.

  • Goal: having lots of fun and get confidence on your Paddle Board
  • Covers: introduction and safety for your SUP, small guided SUP Tour, SUP races and Eco-awareness

SUP RENTAL

When you hire a stand up paddle board from us, you are free to explore the area on your own and enjoy a day on the water with friends and family. You are welcome to rent the gear per hour or the whole day, to make the most out of your own SUP adventure. Prices start at $35 for an hours rental.

OUR SPOTS

Swan River & Shoalwater

SEABREEZE SUP SCHOOL is teaching Stand Up Paddle Board in two of the best locations for SUP lessons in the Perth area. The Swan River at Melville and Shoalwater at Rockingham.

Thanks to low wind in the mornings you can get fast control over your SUP by standing in the waist deep water. This makes it really safe and easier to learn, than in a deep water spot.

The Shoalwater Marine Park with Penguin and Seal Island are the most popular attractions in the area of Rockingham and worth to be discovered on your SUP Board. Thanks to calm winds in the mornings, both spots are the safest places to learn and to make a faster progress. At Shoalwater and on the Swan River you get the chance to see dolphins playing in the water and to get close to some rare species of birds.

At Penguin Island, little Penguins breed in the burrows – watch them being fed at the interactive centre. The island is also home to breeding colonies of silver gulls, fairy terns, bridled terns and Caspian terns.

The reefs surrounding the islands provide good snorkelling and diving and abound in marine life including sea stars, urchins and molluscs. As well as a number of fish species. Take to the water and you’ll probably run into a pod of bottlenose dolphins which are extremely common in the marine park. Seal Island is home to a colony of rare Australian sea lions which can often be seen fishing and swimming in nearby waters.

Shoalwater Islands Marine Park is also home to the Saxon Ranger, a 400 tonne former fishing vessel. This is the first purpose sunk dive wreck in the Perth metropolitan area. Dive permits are required. Shoalwater Islands Marine Park is accessible from Rockingham which is less than an hour’s drive south of Perth.

Swan Estuary Marine Park

Swan River

The Swan River is a world class location and ideal place to learn Stand Up Paddle Surf – with shallow, flat water, no waves, no swell and no currents. It provides a significantly better learning experience than in the ocean. The Swan Estuary Marine Park is considered one of the most beautiful locations for SUP lessons in Perth, Western Australia. Plus it is so close to the city that you can easily reach our spot.

The area we will be discover with our Stand Up Paddle Boards is part of the Derbarl Yerrigan, or Swan River. It is one to three small areas to the Swan Estuary Marine Park, established for the conservation of native plants and animals.

The marine park encompasses shallows, sandbars, mudflats, seagrass beds and intertidal vegetation, providing habitat for many animal species that rely on the Swan River’s estuarine environment. The narrow margin of vegetation along the foreshore provides shelter for native animals and stabilises the river bank.

These habitats provide a nursery for fish and invertebrates, which in turn support a rich diversity of foraging, nesting and resting water birds. Dolphins are often seen feeding in the shallows.

Migratory wading birds travel great distances to and from Siberia each year and can be seen here during summer. Loss of habitat across their fly water was impacted many species. This part of the river provides a protected refuge where they can rest and “re-fuel” for the next stage of their journey.
